Restoration and Functional Conversion of the Brukenthal Ensemble in Avrig

The project proposes structural consolidation, restoration, and interior fit-out works, with the goal of functionally converting the building ensemble into cultural, educational, and exhibition spaces. The works include the reconstruction of the roof structure and covering, restoration of façades and joinery, reorganization of interior spaces, and integration of technical infrastructure.

The intervention is compatible with the historic materiality and morphology of the building, without altering its volume or affecting valuable architectural elements. The newly arranged spaces will host exhibitions, workshops, and public events, in direct connection with the circulation route through the historic gardens.
