Exhibition in the Evangelical Cathedral of Sibiu in collaboration with the Brukenthal National Museum
The project explores two historical spaces inside the Evangelical Cathedral of Sibiu – the inner balcony and the attic of the cathedral. Through a series of curatorial interventions and installations developed in direct relation to the architectural context and the collections of the Brukenthal National Museum.
In the balcony space, archaeological stone fragments are presented through a series of additions made from pigmented flexible resin. These additions propose a visual extension that marks the absence of the original volume. The display is supported by a digital installation composed of interactive screens and projections controlled by sound and movement, as well as a continuous livestream from the museum, which brings into the exhibition the presence of physically inaccessible pieces.
In the attic, the intervention is oriented toward architectural documentation and layered presentation. The wooden structure of the roof becomes an exhibition support itself, complemented by suspended panels, targeted lighting, and working studios. Here, the installations highlight the visible traces of historical modifications and invite a form of slow observation, focused on material and space.
Much of the exhibition content is produced in-house, in a process that combines workshop techniques with the rigor of archaeological research. The two spaces function in parallel as living archives, where the object, the absence, and reinterpretation meet in a contemporary exhibition framework.
